Forget cramped cargo holds. Skip the squished under-seat economy space. Dodge the extended stay in doggy daycare. BARK Air is set to revolutionise pet travel with the world's first airline designed specifically with canine comfort in mind.

Your favourite four-legged friend deserves the very best, and for some this means travelling private, more specifically on a Gulfstream G5, the aircraft of choice for celebrities and billionaires such as Oprah Winfrey, Jeff Bezos, Bill Gates and Elon Musk.

With this in mind, BARK Air aims to "deliver a white paw experience" from take off to landing.

Currently connecting the major metropolises of New York, Los Angeles, London, and Paris, this luxurious new doggy airline is already planning to expand its network with exciting new routes on the horizon.

One-way tickets start at $6,000 for domestic flights within the US, and $8,000 per leg for trans-Atlantic journeys. While pampering your pup might come with a premium price tag, it also includes the cost of a human ticket. BARK Air not only ensures peace of mind, but also a luxury travel experience for both you and your furry friend.

When you say luxury travel for dogs, what do you mean?

For most of us, travelling via private jet is the epitome of luxury travel.

Now, imagine a spacious main cabin where furry friends can socialise and stretch their legs, no one is confined to a crate - perfection.

BARK Air boasts "dog-centric" layouts with amenities such as earmuffs to drown out engine noise, delicious in-flight meals (think gourmet canine cuisine), and even spa treatments for the ultimate pampering experience. This luxurious service isn't just about spoiling your pet; it prioritises their wellbeing too.

The crew is trained in dog CPR and behaviour, ensuring a safe and stress-free journey for all pawrents and furry passengers. Aiming to eliminate the days of anxious barks, whimpers and saying goodbye in a travel crate – BARK Air provides a comfortable and enjoyable travel experience for both you and your four-legged companion.

While the price tag might be steeper than traditional pet transport, it's a small price to pay for peace of mind and a luxurious experience for your beloved pet.

What is provided in the cost of the ticket?

Flying private means your pup gets pampered from take-off to touchdown.

BARK Air ensures the ultimate luxury experience for the four-legged passengers, including cozy blankets, comfy beds, toys and treats. Of course, pawrents can also bring any favourite toys or familiar comfort items for an extra touch of home as you travel.

Each human companion is allowed one check in one suitcase, with a maximum weight limit of 23kg. Additionally another small wheeled suitcase per person can be stowed in the main cabin, alongside a personal item such as a handbag or a backpack.

The pampering doesn't end upon landing, BARK Air offers complimentary dog-friendly transportation to service destinations within a 50km radius of the airport, ensuring a smooth and stress-free arrival for both you and your pooch.

Are there any breed or size restrictions aboard BARK Air?

On BARK Air, all dog breeds and sizes are welcome to roam free (well, almost free – the cockpit is off-limits, and leashes are needed for take off and landing). Your furry friend can choose their favourite spot to relax, or new favourite friend to play with and can enjoy the flight – whether it's by the window, sprawling in the aisle, or snuggling on your lap.

How many dogs are on each flight?

Gulfstream G5 private planes can comfortably accommodate up to 15 four-legged passengers and their humans, BARK Air purposefully limits tickets on each leg to a maximum of 10 pawssengers. This ensures ample space on board for both pets and owners, allowing everyone to relax and enjoy the pampered flight experience.

Which airports does BARK Air operate between?

The airlines current routes serve the New York City metro area via Westchester County Airport (HPN), with flights to the Los Angeles area via Van Nuys (VNY) and the United Kingdom capital city of London, via Biggin Hill (BQH).
