AirBnB has launched a new category that you'll want to know about.
The Icon category of Airbnb aims to reimagine the 'normal', everyday AirBnB stays and experiences, offering guests a fresh perspective by bringing the magic of imagination, childhood memories, and once-in-a-lifetime experiences to life.
Stay in the Musée d’Orsay, Paris
AirBnB is an online marketplace that connects travellers with hosts who offer lodging and experiences in various destinations around the world. Allowing people to easily rent out their homes, apartments, or spare rooms to guests, the website and application provides users with an alternative to traditional hotel or BnB stays.
AirBnb Icons 2024
Eleven 'Icons' will give guests the chance to immerse themselves in stays and experiences previously only imagined; from a night in the museum – the Ferrari Museum that is, going on tour with a reggaeton superstar for a week and staying in the home of a Bollywood legend, these are most definitely iconic.
“Icons take you inside worlds that only existed in your imagination—until now,” said Brian Chesky, Airbnb co-founder and CEO. “As life becomes increasingly digital, we’re focused on bringing more magic into the real world. With Icons, we’ve created the most extraordinary experiences on Earth.”

Stay in the Up! House
Get ready for an adventure of a lifetime, at the Up! House, you'll be one step closer to Paradise Falls. Step into Carl and Ellie's home, straight out of the movie we all know and love —and it's no ordinary dwelling; it floats. This is a meticulously crafted replica of the house which will float with the help of with over 8,000 balloons, above the picturesque red rocks of Abiquiu, New Mexico.
Stay in the 2D Marvel X-Mansion
Straight out of the pages of a comic book, this will be a 2D replica of the Xmen X-Mansion. The ideal once-in-a-lifetime stay for Marvel superfans, the X-Mansion will be recreated in Westchester, New York.
Stay at the Ferrari Museum
Have you ever stayed overnight in a museum? We're guessing not. And this is no ordinary museum, its the Ferrari Museum. You'll sleep in a bed crafted from the highest quality Italian leather, the exact material used in Ferrari cars. A double stay and experience combination, this Icon will whisk away to Maranello, Italy for an overnight in the Ferrari Museum, a lap with Scuderia Ferrari ambassador driver Marc Gené, and VIP access to Emilia-Romagna’s premier race.
How Can I Experience an Iconic Stay or Experience?
The experiences and stays Icon category is only available via a 'digital golden ticket'.
Although the majority of Icons will be available to apply for at no cost at all, the team at AirBnB have ensured that all of the stays and experiences are priced at less than $100 USD per guest (for those lucky enough to get a digital golden ticket). A countdown timer on the website or app will show users the time remaining until each Icon becomes available, and guests can submit booking requests through the app.
Over 4000 digital golden tickets will be available, and after that it is a lucky dip!
