These are the athletes representing Saudi Arabia in the 2024 Olympics

The world's biggest celebration of sporting prowess, and arguably the greatest sporting spectacle will return this summer.

Taking place every four years, the 33rd edition of the Olympic Summer Games is set to take place from July 26 to August 11, in various locations across Paris, France.

A global celebration of athletic ability and international unity, the Olympic Summer Games will see more than 10,500 top performing athletes from over 200 countries come together to compete for the glory and international recognition.

This prestigious event brings together elite athletes from across the globe, all vying for the coveted gold medal spot in 45 different sporting disciplines including new sports such as breakdancing, sport climbing and surfing.

Saudi Arabia at 2024 Olympics

Now we will turn the spotlight to Saudi Arabia's talented athletes who will be proudly representing their nation on the world stage this summer.

Six Saudi Arabian athletes have qualified for the 2024 Olympic Summer Games in Paris, showcasing their years of rigorous training and unwavering passion for their chosen sports. Participating in three different sporting categories, regardless of the outcome the athletes' upcoming performances promise to be a testament to their resilience and athletic excellence and dedication to their sport.

Show Jumping

The Saudi show-jumping team, known as the Knights of Green, achieved first place in the Group G qualifiers at the Doha International Showjumping Championship in early March, securing their place in the Olympics this summer.

At the Doha Internationals, the Saudi show jumping team was represented by the Olympic rider Ramzi Al-Dahami, the Olympic rider Abdullah Al-Sharbatly, the rider Abdul Rahman Al-Rajhi and the rider Khaled Al-Mabti.

Shot Put

Mohamed Tolu is set to represent Saudi Arabia in Paris this summer after securing a spot in the competition last week. To secure his spot at the Olympics, Tolu threw an impressive 21.8metres, smashing records, this result surpassed the Asian Games record and the Olympic qualifying mark.

Dunya Abou Taleb is already making history before she even gets to the Paris Olympics. The Jeddawi earned herself an automatic qualification spot in the Olympics following an impressive performance at the Asian qualifiers in March, and in the same beat Abou Taleb became first Saudi woman to qualify for the 2024 Olympics.

Saudi's History at the Olympics

Saudi Arabia's Olympic story officially began in 1965 when the International Olympic Committee (IOC) recognised the nation, and approved their participation in the event. Since 1965, the Kingdom has participated in every Olympic Games since 1972 (except for 1980 Moscow Olympics), striving for excellence on the world stage.

The dedication and athleticism of the Kingdom's sportsmen and women paid off at the 2000 Olympic Summer Games in Sydney, Australia where Saudi Arabia won two Olympic medals for the first time: Hadi Soua’an Al-Somaily won a silver medal in the men’s 400 metre hurdles, and Khaled Al-Eid won an equestrian bronze in the individual's show jumping category.

In 2012, the Kingdom's first female athletes participated in the London Olympic Summer Games. Sarah Attar represented the nation in the women's 800 metre, whilst Wojdan Shaherkani competed in women's judo.
