The ever evolving fine-dining scene in Riyadh has made the Saudi Arabian capital a global destination for food lovers, and internationally renowned restaurateurs alike.

Whilst many fine-dining restaurants are known to open their doors for limited hours in the evenings, some high-end eateries in Riyadh are opening earlier to provide a unique and indulgent lunch experience.

Here are some List-approved fine-dining spots in Riyadh, each are now welcoming guests for bougie business lunch menus:

MR CHOW

Since touching down in Riyadh last year, MR CHOW has been serving its celebrated “authentic Beijing cuisine” at its King Abdullah Financial District (KAFD) location. Opening at 12pm throughout the week, it offers a wide array of appetisers and mains, including the house special – chicken satay – one of the restaurant’s debut dishes when it was founded in London in 1968, and also not to be missed is the Dressed Dungeness Crab.

If you are on the lookout for an elegant business lunch spot, we recommend MR CHOW’s special menu, at SAR 159 for two courses, and it is available until 5.30pm. The restaurant also offers another lunch menu, including starters like Lobster Shumai or Shanghai Little Dragon. The Gamblers Duck – a classic – sweet and sour chicken, and lamb with spring onion come with the six main dish options.

ROKA

With two locations, one in Jeddah and one in Riyadh, ROKA has become the lunch destination for fine Japanese robatayaki cuisine and a modern atmosphere.

The Riyadh location in As Sulimaniyah offers two different menus for the midday meal. The classic menu, comprises of four appetisers for sharing, including iceberg lettuce with caramelised onion dressing and white miso soup with spring onions and seaweed, along with five delicious main course choices. Try the beef fillet with chilli, ginger, and spring onion or the salmon fillet teriyaki. The menu is priced at SAR145 per person, with dessert costing an additional SAR39.

For an extra special and indulgent lunch experience at ROKA, choose the premium menu. Offering five appetisers to share, including the famed three sashimi selection with chirashi tartare, sweet potato tempura with truffle sauce, and dynamite spicy crispy shrimp tempura roll. Main course options include the lamb cutlets with Korean spices and sesame cucumber and the marinated black cod The premium menu is available at a price of SAR185 per person, again desserts are available for an additional cost.

At LPM Riyadh, diners can enjoy a wide variety of tasty dishes on the new business lunch menu. Available from Sunday to Thursday, from 12.30pm to 3.30pm, there’s an option between the light two-course Le Petit Menu (SAR180) and the three-course Le Grand Menu (SAR230).

For appetisers, we recommend the swordfish tartare with sesame citrus dressing and the cured sirloin with pickle dressing. Other flavourful dishes on the new menu include the tender stem broccoli tempura and grilled vegetable rolls with buffalo mozzarella. A popular main dish choice is the herb marinated chicken with sautéed spinach, rich in wonderful diverse flavours, as is the homemade spinach ravioli with pistou, which has a refreshing Mediterranean summer tang. The grilled veal chop and roasted cod with Provençal sauce are other fine alternatives for something heartier.

Le Maschou

In Riyadh’s Diplomatic Quarter, you’ll find Le Maschou, an enchanting French restaurant offering two set menus for lunch, from 12.30pm to 4.00pm, Sunday to Wednesday. Since the 1963 opening of the flagship restaurant in Cannes, Le Maschou is renowned for being a popular spot with many celebrities, and the Riyadh outpost has already welcomed the likes of Cristiano Ronaldo, David Guetta, and Steve Aoki.

For the ultimate French food experience, choose the first set menu, at SAR169, which includes appetisers such as seafood salad, fig salad, and onion soup. Roasted chicken and grilled salmon fillet are the two main course options, accompanied with sides of white rice, truffle potato purée, and braised asparagus. Plus, the fine selection of desserts ropes in favourites like San Sebastian cheesecake and crème caramel.

However, for an extra special lunch, you can try the second menu for SAR295, which is similar to the first one, but comes with the added choice of a juicy, tender highly marbled cut of Black Onyx in the mains section.
