Over the weekend, Saudi Arabia's Red Sea International Film Festival (RSIFF) collaborated with Vanity Fair Europe to host the glamorous 'Women in Cinema' Gala in Cannes.

On Saturday evening celebrities, actors and models from around the world came together to walk the red carpet. Capturing the attention of international press outlets, the step-and-repeat saw a star-studded line up grace the red carpet including Uma Thurman, Salma Abu Deif, Naomi Campbell, Aseel Omran Richard Gere, Eva Longoria and many more.

Guests joined members of the RSIFF Board, including CEO of the Red Sea Film Foundation, Muhammed Al-Turki, and chairwoman, Joumana Al Rashed for a lavish dinner and an evening of celebration at the iconic Hotel Du Cap-Eden-Roc in Cap d'Antibes.

The glamorous event took place after the RSIFF hosted "Women in Cinema" discussion panel at the Variety Global Conversations event earlier on Saturday.

The panel featured prominent figures such as Egyptian actress and model Salma Abu Deif, Indian actress Kiara Advani, beloved Saudi actresses Adhwa Fahad and Aseel Omran, alongside a number of other inspirational women, who shared insights into their career journeys and sources of inspiration.

Saudi Arabia's presence at the 77th edition of the Cannes Film Festival is significant as the first film, directed by a Saudi national, and filmed in the Kingdom will be screened at the internationally recognised film festival.

Already an RSIFF winner, Norah will be featured in the illustrious film festival's 'Un Certain Regard' category, alongside 19 other global entries. Established in 1978, this category serves as a platform to spotlight emerging talents and unconventional storytelling. You can read more about Norah at Cannes Film Festival here.

'Norah' has been a boundary breaking production since its conception: it was the first feature film to be shot in its entirety in AlUla — a first in the region and film industry — and was created by a wholly Saudi Arabian cast, crew with the concept developed and directed by a Riyadh-born creative.
