AlUla is a buzzing cultural hub.

From the traditional mud-brick buildings of Old Town and the luxurious oases of desert resorts such as Habitas AlUla and Banyan Tree AlUla to hosting numerous massive names in music at the iconic, mirrored Maraya, and the UNESCO recognised stone carvings of Jabal Ikmah: AlUla's cultural potential extends far beyond the sandy landscape.

A leading art gallery since its opening in 2009, ATHR Art Gallery was founded by Mohammed Hafiz and Hamza Serafi and since has become one the Kingdom's most well-known contemporary art galleries at home and abroad.

In English, Arabic word 'athr' translates to 'impact' aligning with the gallery's aims to support both budding and established artists from Saudi and the surrounding Arab regions, hoping to make an impact on art lovers and appreciators around the world.

ATHR Gallery has three locations across Saudi, including Al Jadida in Old Town AlUla.

'Returning to a Present' is a new group exhibition, highlighting the diversity and beauty in the landscapes of the nation, and will be curated by Pharah Al Ghalib. Al Ghalib has selected the creations of Saudi artists to be displayed, these artistic forms are showcased through various means and forms such as painting and photography, installations and even video.

Saudi creatives and artists selected for this ATHR Gallery curation come from various backgrounds across the Kingdom, making for an interesting exhibition. These artists will be Ahaad Alamoudi, Ayman Yossri Daydban, Ibrahim Romman, Muhannad Shono, Sarah Abu Abdullah and Sultan bin Fahad.
